The Laser Surfacing Solutions Story

In 2004, Hardchrome Engineering and Swinburne University of Technology formed Laser Surfacing solutions to offer australia industry some advance surfacing solutions based on laser technology. Laser surfacing offers a number of advantages compared to conventional surfacing technologies including:

The formation of Laser Surfacing Solutions has brough together the collective skills and experience of two of Australia's key organisations.

IRIS at Swinburne University is recognised as a centre of excellence for laser technology in manufacturing. It has been involved in laser research for many years through Professor Milan Brandt who is a recognised world authority in the area. His programs at IRIS have advanced the learning of laser cladding technology for many new engineers.

Hardchrome Engineering has been at the forefront of surface engineering technologies since its inception in 1968. They have continued to invest in new technologies on a regular basis and have expanded their facilities to now include a state-of-the-art plating facility in Adelaide. The addition of Paul Howard to the Hardchrome team has added the wealth of experience in hardfacing and wear protection as he has had spent many years in Perth working in materials research in mining and introduced new plasma transferred arc (PTA) hardfacing technology to Australian industry.

The extensive knowledge of these two organisations have been brought together under the banner of Lase Surfacing Solutions Pty Ltd. this is an exciting developement in the hardfacing marketing for Australia and brings a very competitive combination of skills and experience together.

If you have a wear or corrosion problem then Laser Surfacing Solutions are very likely to have a solution.
